1. Introduction

Welcome to Eye Guard, a mobile application developed by MJ Solution Co., Ltd. (주식회사 명진솔루션). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our Eye Guard application ("App", "Service", "we", "us", or "our").

Eye Guard is designed to protect children's vision by monitoring screen distance using on-device AI technology. We are committed to transparency and protecting your privacy, especially when it comes to children's data.

2. Information We DO NOT Collect

• No Facial Recognition Data: We do not collect, store, or transmit any facial images, biometric data, or facial recognition information.
• No Photos or Videos: The app does not take, save, or upload any photos or videos of your child.
• No Location Tracking: We do not track or collect location data.
• No Internet Transmission of Personal Data: We do not collect names, email addresses, or phone numbers on our servers.
• No Third-Party Sharing: We do not share any data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

3. How Eye Guard Works (Technical Explanation)

Eye Guard uses Google ML Kit for on-device face detection. Here is exactly what happens:

• Real-Time Processing: When the app is active, it uses the front camera to detect faces in real-time.
• Distance Calculation: Our proprietary algorithm calculates the distance between the detected face and the screen.
• Instant Alert: If the distance is too close, the app displays a warning overlay and a voice alert.
• No Storage or Transmission: All image processing happens in your device's temporary memory (RAM). Nothing is saved to storage, and no data is sent over the internet. The core functionality works completely offline.

4. Information Collected and Stored LOCALLY (On-Device Only)

To provide and personalize our service, the app stores minimal information strictly on your device's local storage (Android SharedPreferences). This data never leaves your device.

• Child's Display Name (For Warning Screen Only): The app requests a name to display on the full-screen warning overlay (e.g., "Wait a second, [Name]!"). We highly encourage parents to use a nickname, a fictitious name, or just "Kid". This name is solely used for this visual UI display, is stored strictly locally, and is never transmitted to our servers or shared with anyone.
• Security Answer: The app asks for a "Mother's Hometown" strictly as a local security question for parental password recovery. We encourage providing a fake answer. It is never verified or uploaded anywhere.
• Parental Settings: The parent-configured PIN, language selection, and "Kids Zone" website URLs are stored locally. We do not track or transmit the child's browsing history.
• Custom Audio Recordings: If a parent chooses to record a custom voice warning, the audio file is saved exclusively on the local device storage.
• Eye Health Analytics (Free Plan Exclusive): The app locally counts how many times the screen was held too close and tracks active usage time to generate charts for parents. This is completely anonymous and stored locally.

5. Required Android Permissions and Their Usage

To function correctly, Eye Guard requests the following permissions. None of these permissions are used to collect or share personal data:

• Camera (CAMERA): Used strictly in real-time by Google ML Kit to measure the distance between the face and the screen. No video or image data is ever saved or transmitted.
• Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): Used exclusively if the parent chooses to record a personalized custom voice alert. The recording remains locally on the device.
• Draw Over Other Apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Required to display the warning overlay screen over other active applications when the device is held dangerously close.
• Device Administrator (BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN): This permission is strictly requested with explicit parental consent to prevent the child from bypassing, disabling, or uninstalling the app without the parental PIN. We do not use this permission for any other administrative policies (like wiping data or changing screen locks).
• Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_CAMERA): Ensures the app can continuously protect the child's eyes while running in the background.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Eye Guard is designed for use by children under parental supervision. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar international regulations:

• No Personal Information from Children: We do not knowingly collect or transmit any personal information from children under 13.
• Parental Control: The app requires parental setup and can only be configured or uninstalled by parents using a secure PIN.
• No Marketing to Children: We do not display advertisements or marketing content to children.

7. Third-Party Services

• Google ML Kit: Eye Guard uses Google ML Kit for on-device face detection. All processing happens on-device. No images or facial data are sent to Google servers.
• No Tracking or Advertising: We DO NOT use analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics), advertising networks, or cloud storage services.

8. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

Eye Guard offers premium subscriptions through Google Play:

• Payment Processing: All payments are handled entirely by Google Play. We do not collect or store credit card information.
• Subscription Management: All subscriptions are managed through your Google Play settings.

9. Your Rights, Controls, and Data Deletion

Since we do not collect or store your data on our servers, you have complete control over it:

• Access & Modification: You can change all settings, names, and security answers directly within the app.
• Data Deletion: Because all data is stored locally, simply uninstalling the Eye Guard application will permanently delete all associated data, including analytics, custom voices, display names, and settings.
